I am a retired elementary school educator with experience in all grade-level subjects, art instruction, and school library media. After retirement, I wrote Wanda and Winky which is my third publication for children and teachers. I engaged in extensive research about elephants in captivity and this led me to a new purpose in retirement: Elephant Ambassador for the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. I now enjoy giving talks about elephants and the many ways we can help them be free and live lives of dignity, My goal through these presentations is to help raise funds for the sanctuary to help feed and care for these lovely girls. Please visit www.elephants.com to see how you can help too.
I have learned so much and would love to talk with you about elephants. I can speak on behalf of the Elephant Sanctuary, help set up a "Love Elephants Club" or present lessons on writing, poetry, opinion writing, science, and art. I have also become an activist in promoting legislation to ban the bullhook, ban circuses with wild animal acts, and end circus suffering altogether, Additionally, there are zoos, roadside shows, county fairs, and private owners who are keeping lonely elephants from the joy of having an elephant family and freedom to roam a natural habitat. Please join my crusade, and help me to make a difference in the lives of all captive elephants. Thank you!
